Frequently Asked Questions
1) What kind of counseling do you offer?
We offer a unique form of counseling called auditing, developed by L Ron Hubbard. The term 'auditing' comes from the Latin audire meaning to hear or listen. Our counselors are called 'auditors' because they are skilled in guiding a person with questions and then listening to their answers. This process helps one work out difficulties in life and attain higher levels of awareness. There are many different kinds of auditing depending on the needs of the person. Once we know your child's needs, a special program will be written just for him/her.
We also offer Ethics Counseling. This is used when your child or teen has moral dilemmas in life and isn't making good decisions or needs help to figure out what the right decisions are.
Because an important part of helping children is teamwork between the parents and ourselves, we also offer Parent Consulting. This can be used when the child's counselor feels it's needed for your child's best interest. Also, parents often have questions about how to handle various parenting situations--after all, no manual was given you when your child was born--so our highly trained parent consultants can help parents find answers to the nagging questions of parenthood.
2) What kind of credentials do your counselors have?
The technology of auditing was developed by L Ron Hubbard. All Mace-Kingsley auditors have received thorough training and demonstrated positive results repeatedly in this spiritual technique through the Church of Scientology. Since many of our customers are children, our auditors undergo further training and an internship at Mace-Kingsley using L Ron Hubbard's works to more specifically hone their auditing skills for working with children.
3) When getting counseling will my child live at Mace-Kingsley?
No. We schedule times during the day for your child to receive counseling. We are not a live-in facility.
4) Is it true you audit babies?
Yes. Being born is a traumatic undertaking. There are some auditing procedures for them that can make a big difference in helping them start life off on the right foot.
5) Does a person have to be in some sort of trouble or have some severe life situations to receive auditing?
Absolutely not! Auditing is intended primarily to make the able more able. There is much information on the multitude of miraculous life changes that auditing will bring to anyone contained in the writings and recorded lectures of L Ron Hubbard, but to summarize a few: increased IQ, ability to do new things you never knew you could, greatly enhanced ability to communicate and to get along with others, increased leadership abilites, enhanced reaction time, new levels of abilities in sports, music, writing and more. The sky is the limit!
Of course, children (and adults) run into all kinds of trouble with their lives, bodies, relations with others, living in these troubled times and so on. But the stress is to handle these life difficulties as rapidly as possible and then get around to the real job: making your child as able as he can be and greatly improving his ability to change conditions in his environment for the better.
